Panama is a highly dollarized, cross-border-first market. Credit cards dominate, consistent with a formally banked, USD-economy consumer base. Cross-border transactions represent a very high share of total volume, driven by Panama's role as a regional financial and commercial hub.
Local alternative payment infrastructure is limited beyond cards.

Panama's dollarized economy means payments are natively processed in USD-equivalent values.
Refunds
- Refunds for credit and debit card payments are sent to the card acquirer.
- Panama does not currently support alternative payment methods, so no bank transfer refund details are required.
