Overview
Kenya is East Africa's leading digital commerce market with strong growth. The market is defined by mobile money: M-Pesa is the single most dominant payment method, reflecting Kenya's position as the global reference for mobile money adoption.
M-Pesa has effectively become the banking infrastructure for a large portion of the population. Cards exist but are limited in reach. Digital buyer penetration is relatively high for the African region, driven by mobile-first behavior.
