Bre-B Overview
Bre-B is a payment platform developed by the Banco de la República in Colombia that enables real-time transactions through QR codes. Similar to PIX in Brazil, Bre-B provides instant fund transfers 24/7 with a maximum processing time of 20 seconds.

- Real-time processing: Transactions are processed instantly, 24/7/365
- QR code payments: Customers scan a QR code with their banking app to complete payments
- Immediate fund availability: Funds are available immediately after payment confirmation
- Interoperability: Works across multiple financial institutions in Colombia
Integration with EBANX
EBANX provides Bre-B integration through the Direct API. When you create a Bre-B payment request, the API returns a Base64-encoded QR code image that you display to your customer. The customer scans this QR code with their banking app to authorize and complete the payment.
Use payment_type_code: "breb" when creating Bre-B payment requests through the EBANX Direct API.
