# Overview

Mexico is EBANX's second-largest market in Latin America. The payment landscape is among the most diverse in the portfolio: credit and debit cards together drive the majority of volume, but cash-based alternatives like OXXO Pay serve the large unbanked and cash-preferring population.

SPEI, Mexico's instant bank transfer system, is growing rapidly, and the digital wallet ecosystem — including Mercado Pago — adds a meaningful layer. Cross-border volume is substantial, reflecting Mexico's deep integration with US-based merchants.

Credit Card, Debit Card, OXXO Pay, SPEI, Mercado Pago Wallet, Mercado Pago Connect, Aplazo, Stablecoin (USDC, USDT)

### Customer document
The <code>document</code> field is optional. The system infers the type based on length.

| Document Type | Format | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| CURP | 18 characters | Clave Unica de Registro de Poblacion. Unique population registry key for individuals. |
| IRFC | 13 characters | Individual RFC (Registro Federal de Contribuyentes). Tax identification for individuals. |
| CRFC | 12 characters | Corporate RFC. Tax identification for businesses. |
### Currency and settlement

### Refunds

- Refunds for credit and debit card payments are sent to the card acquirer.

Bank transfer refunds require the following customer banking details:

| CLABE | Standardized 18-digit interbank account number |
| Account holder name | Name of the bank account holder |
